How many bindings this direction currently holds. One Gantt contributes one binding per direction, so 1 is the ordinary un-shared axis and 2 or more means two charts line up on one timeline. view/ reads it to keep every pane on a shared axis the same width (issue #440).

How far panTo may ask: the loosest bound any bound Gantt needs. Not a claim about any one chart's scroller — each clamps its own.
