Class: InvalidPresetError

code: 'invalid-preset' — a ViewPreset object that breaks a rule between its own fields, from resolvePreset (header readability follow-up). One code covers every such rule, because each one names the same fault: this preset object is inconsistent. time/presets.ts holds the rules — today, 'tick-widths' (preferredTickWidthPx below its own minTickWidthPx), 'tick-step' (tickUnit/tickIncrement coarser than the finest header), and 'tick-increment' (a tickIncrement or header increment that is not a positive whole number — 0 or less never advances a step, stepBy throws an untyped RangeError for it deep in time/scale.ts, far from the preset that caused it (NEW-2/#481 review)). rule is that closed set, for a caller that wants to branch without parsing prose; message is the broken validator's own sentence, naming the fix, and stays the human-readable half.

rule is not reason: that word already names the consumer's own words passed to refuse(reason) (MutationCancelledError.reason, the ErrorReport.reason field) — a different thing, core's own words about a rule it enforces, not the consumer's about one it chose (T2/#481 review, one word keeps one meaning).

operation names the actual door the consumer wrote through — resolvePreset is one function reached from three doors (gantt.preset, gantt.zoomPresets, a shared TimeScaleModel's own preset), the same reason InvertedSpanError below takes operation (#482 review). A message that always said gantt.preset named the wrong door for the other two.
